The Virgnina Avenue Community Garden (VACG) was started in Southeast DC in 2004 on the open Department of Parks and Recreation space nestled between Virginia Avenue to the south, I-295 to the north, 11th Street to the east, and 9th Street to the west. In the six years since its beginning, the VACG has expanded to full membership capacity, providing over 60 local families the opportunity to grow vegetables in a completely organic setting.
