The Boulder City Community Gardens are located in clean, green Boulder City, the only non-gambling city the State of Nevada. Boulder City is the city that built Hoover Dam and is located on a hill above the Colorado River 8 miles from the Arizona border and 25 miles east of Las Vegas, Nevada. The Gardens are located at the triangle corner of Railroad Avenue, Colorado Street, and Birch Street on the site of the old water filtration plant in the Boulder City Historic District. The gardens also serve as a picnic area and meeting place, and is a high point in the city affording a beautiful view of the River Mountains to the west. The site is owned by the City of Boulder City, which generously allows the public to garden in raised-bed gardens from which gardeners are able to harvest vegetables and enjoy flowering plants year round.
