It is the mission of the Bloomsburg Community Garden to provide access to land, education, and other resources necessary for people in the Bloomsburg area to grow food in environmentally sustainable ways. We believe food can and should be locally produced, affordable, and nutritious.

The Bloomsburg Garden Committee strives to empower members, foster appreciation for their work in the garden, and to promote the Bloomsburg Community Garden as a unique resource for organic and sustainable gardening education through a schedule of workshops, publications, and other activities.

We value operating and self-governance structures and processes that are guided by honesty, diversity, mutual respect, openness, on-going evaluation, celebration, and a commitment to member participation. We believe that when people work together to grow food and connect with the land, communities and individuals grow strong, hopeful, confident and healthy.

The Bloomsburg Community Garden envisions:

1. A healthy, sustainable, and local community of gardeners working in individually assigned plots to grow fresh produce.

2. A collaborative greenspace in which the participants share in both the maintenance and the rewards.

3. An exploratory area for children where they can create beauty- a space which bolsters confidence and encourages learning and interest in gardening.
